What a night!
Mr. P and the Girls
On Saturday, May 12, 2007 the Michael Petrone Foundation honored Mr. Al Pauzano with our first “Lifetime Achievement Award”.  The event was held at the Tall Cedars Lodge in East Norriton.   The event was a spectacular success as evidenced by the enthusiastic turnout of close to 250 friends, family members, and former student and athletes.

Music was provided by two great bands -- Vin Rosay started the night out and Frequency-Holder was there to close out the event.  The Foundation is very thankful to all the band members and staff who donated their time and talents for the evening.

The night was one filled with love and emotion,  When all was said and done that night, we all had an increased appreciation of the toll that those who await organ donations, and their families and friends,  must bear in hopes of continuing their lives in good health.   In addition, we were able to present the Pauzano family with over $19,000 in net proceeds to help them continue to wage the "waiting game war".

Thanks to all of you who attended.  It was a night none of us will ever forget!

Note: Al was a teacher and football coach at Bishop Kenrick High School from 1971 until 1979.  During his tenure at Bishop Kenrick, Mr. Pauzano was a caring and compassionate teacher and coach who was known to many students at Bishop Kenrick as a role model, mentor and friend.  Mr. Pauzano also held similar positions at St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia, St. Pius X High School in Pottstown and Lansdale Catholic High School in Lansdale.

Al became disabled in 2005 and is currently retired and living in the Lansdale area.  He is currently on a waiting list for a liver transplant.  In honor of Al and the many thousands of people nationwide who are on a transplant waiting list, the theme for the evening will be organ donor awareness.   We encourage everyone who was fortunate enough to have  known Mr. Pauzano to support this event with your attendance.

The MPF feels a strong bond between this cause and the reason the Foundation was started.  There are quite a few ties between Mike’s and Al’s condition, the way they have lived their lives and their ties to a sport they both loved.  We are honored to be able to bring this event to you.

Wheelchair Donation
In March 2002, the MPF donated a manual wheelchair worth $2,700 to someone identified by one of our volunteer staffers. More details on this donation will be forthcoming in the near future.

4th Annual Troney Trot
On Sunday, April 27, 2003, over 130 people came together for the annual family fun run / walk. The day started with a mass, celebrated by Fr. Kevin Lawrence with a rendition of the national anthem sung by future American Idol and current KKCHS scholar, Gabrielle Billita.

Following mass and registration, most of the attendees braved the chilly morning air and took of on the 5 kilometer race. Everyone was a winner although maybe 45 minutes separated the first runner and the last walker, with a couple skaters and cyclists in between.

After the "exercise", a picnic with hot dogs and hamburgers was enjoyed as the kids had fun with magicians, balloon benders, and other tricksters.
