NO DIPLOMA REQUIRED -
Don’t think that just because you didn’t graduate from Bishop Kenrick that you can’t attend. The Michael Petrone Foundation has many friends / supporters and this event would not be complete without them.

We want YOU there! Don’t miss out on the lively entertainment ~ savory food ~ and unforgettable faces of classmates from the decade of the 70’s. Whether you must travel across two states or two miles, we hope to see you there, as we gather to see old friends, have a laugh or two and recapture our fondest memories!

P.S.
Help us network ~ spread the word to fellow classmates! And, check back periodically on the Foundation’s website and/or Facebook page for updates.

That 70s Reunion
MPF Supports Central Montgomery Mental Health / Mental Retardation Center FLECS program!

Nikki Sambrick has taken the initiaitive to represent the MPF in ways to benefit the youth of Norristown.  In mid-2008, Nikki started a program to support FLECS (Family Life & Education Counseling Services).  We have established an annual budget to help the organization acquire school supplies and other materials as it looks to support the therapeutic program designed to address the social, emotional, educational and behavioral problems of children ages 5 to 12 years.

On the event side, Nikki helped coordinate a day of of bocce at the Norristown Bocce League. The weather couldn’t have been better!
The league was presented with a sign that proclaimed, “WE LOVE BOCCE”, signed by all the kids.  About 40 kids from FLECS came to the courts.  Along with the dozen or so FLECS staff members and the league volunteers (my Dad surprised me and came out), we had plenty of help.  MPF supporters were Joey Shemar and his friend, Rob.  Jarel (MPF scholar) & his mom, Melissa showed up too!  They chipped in wherever needed & were especially busy when lunch time came – they went through a lot of hot dogs!  A couple of the kids even complimented the “chef” on “really good food!”

Next Up: Pizza Making Party

Along with Pizzeria Uno, the MPF is sponsoring a pizza making party at Uno for about 70 kids.  The party will be held in August.

Chance to win a 2008 Cadillac CTS with a Hole-in-One
Kutztown Cadillac was one of dozens of sponsors who helped make our 9th annual MPF Golf Outing a major success.  We had close to 100 golfers and, for the first time, enjoyed a wonderful buffet at the Jeffersonville Golf Club.  The Foundation raised in excess of $15,000 as a result of the event.

This year, the Kennedy Kenrick Golf Team and coach, Jim Atkins, were on hand to help out from the beginning of registration in the late morning to buffet cleanup late at night.

The day was a great success and we look forward to holding our 10th anniversary outing in the fall of 2008.  Stay tuned.

Jack, my you have grown over the past few years! We love you!
